Replacing a CEO is a difficult task, but for a company like Goodland Tech, the search seemed near impossible. We firmly believe that Goodland Tech is more than a company: it's a mission and a way of life, combining excellence in technology and business with an unwavering commitment to elevate local communities. Every hiring decision is crucial to get right---this one, we knew had to be right. We are excited to announce that we have hired Sky Goodwin. A native of Goodland, Kansas, Sky graduated from Goodland High School in 1993, and is returning home to lead Goodland Tech.
With a Master's in Business Operational Excellence, a Juris Doctorate specializing in Transactional Law, and a Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, Sky brings more than just a passion for our local community. Sky recently merged his consulting and law practice to form Fraxional, Ltd., a firm that provides on-demand c-suite services to companies in need of expertise. He also serves as an adjunct professor for Ohio State University's Master's of Engineering Management program, teaching the capstone course where students learn how to apply their education related to operational excellence and project management. Sky's recent experience is highly relevant to Goodland Tech's needs; he is an experienced executive, comfortable collaborating with technologists, and acutely aware of employers' expectations for the graduates they hire.
His return to Goodland is in keeping with his passion for helping the local community. In 2001, he founded Goodland Development Corporation, a nonprofit aimed at the betterment of the community. This organization gave rise to the Junk Parade, and in 2003, it was rechartered as the Sherman County Community Foundation, which remains active today. With Sky at the helm, Goodland Tech can be certain that the ship is being steered in a direction that keeps the best interests of area graduates and the community as a whole in mind. Given his business acumen and unwavering commitment to Goodland, he will play a pivotal role in bringing employment opportunities with leading technology companies to the Goodland, Kansas area.
